Department of Economics

OVERVIEW

The department of economics started its Masters Degree Program in 2005. Later in 2012, it was converted into M.Sc. Economics.  In year 2010, it successfully launched its undergraduate 4-years program of BS Economics.

SCOPE

The importance of Economics as a subject is progressing at a much faster pace than any other subject.  World has become a global village and economic changes occurring all over the world have very serious repercussions on the everyday life.  Hence the study of economics has become the need of hour.  As far as its market value concerns, Economics has proved itself as an essential knowledge for various professional fields like  banking, administration, planning and development, businesses, marketing, and teaching.  While getting education in the field of Economics, students can make their career more brilliant and successful.  The core areas of study are Micro economics, Macro economics, Mathematical Economics, International trade, Monetary economics, public finance, Managerial economics, Economic Development Islamic economics, agricultural economics, and Human resource Development.

OBJECTIVES

The department’s mission is:

  • To impart comprehensive and high standard knowledge of the subject.
  • To make use of the modern quantitative techniques for practical implications.
  • To broaden the thinking perspective and vision of the students on the basis of research based studies.
  • To prepare them for advanced studies like M.Phil and Ph.D.
  • To make them competent in the modern structure of job market.
